“There are lots that I would like to say to him. He urged Mr Bird, who last week announced he had been diagnosed with the disease, to “keep positive and keep fighting”. This week he has released a duet with his 12-year-old daughter Ella, called I can’t wait for tomorrow, which he has dedicated to all MND “warriors”. Musician Roy Taylor has refused to succumb to the disease since his own diagnosis three-and-a-half years ago and uses his talents to write and record songs to raise funds for MND research.
A former Eurovision contender with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) has advised Charlie Bird to “laugh more than cry” as the former RTÉ journalist gets to grips with being diagnosed with the condition.
